About My Work

I am working on developing ultra-sensitive sinuous antenna multi-chroic pixels for the ballon-borne experiment EBEX-IDS. These detectors are polarization sensitive and use superconducting transition sensors. They require to be tuned to the very small incoming signal measured from the high atmosphere. I am also developing and testing new frequency domain multiplexing readout for these detectors.

I am also working on the E and B Experiment (EBEX), a balloon-borne polarimeter build to observe the cosmic microwave background. The goals of EBEX are to detect the gravitational waves produced during the inflationary period of the universe through the signature they imprint on the polarization of the CMB, to measure the lensing effects on the CMB polarization through small scale B-modes and to characterize the polarization of the galactic dust. I have been in charge of the integration of the Digital Frequency Multiplexing (DfMUX) readout system to EBEX and the development of the multiplexing factor. I also characterized the bolometers used during the EBEX science flight. The EBEX telescope was flown over Antarctica during the Austral Summer of 2012-2013. It observed the sky for 12 days. I am currently focusing my effort on the analysis of the data acquired during this flight.
