Thomas M. Demaree (B.S. Physics 1975, Advisor: Dr. Hobbie)

Presently employed as a professional pilot. I use a lot of what I learned as an undergraduate in flying an airplane, especially as it relates to weather, navigation systems, and aircraft performance.

After graduation I went into work as a Cosmic Ray Research Assistant in the Astronomy Department.

Rebuilding a mass spectrometer in senior lab is a fond memory of mine. I especially enjoyed the tutoring I received from Dr. Nier--he should have been awarded the Nobel prize for his work in spectroscopy, and Dr. Giese, who helped me get results!

Favorite Classes/Professors: Professor Hintz, Mechanics. I learned how to state a problem and reason through it to find a solution.

I enjoy fishing and hunting in my free time.
